The “Weaving the Ocean” project began when the artist accidentally found a large number of plastic ropes tangled in the roots of mangrove trees near Sanur on the coast of Bali. This discovery led him to transform the plastic garbage into pieces of abstract textile artworks with the local residents.

Besides putting environmental sustainability into practice, Bayuaji hired local residents as his assistants, to help the people in Bali who are severely impacted by the pandemic. This inspiring and touching project has conceived peaceful and heart-warming works, which captured the seascape of Bali. This exhibition will be opened on October 10th, you are welcomed to come and witness this environmental sustainability project that had shift a small town.
