游文富 | Yu Wen-Fu
Wen-Fu Yu is a Taiwanese contemporary artist, whose works has been exhibit in several important art exbitions in Taiwan. Yu was born into a Taiwanese bamboo craft factory, and thus bamboo became the material he often used. His experience of Air Force gives him another medium, feather, symbolizing the sky, flying, and hope.
In Yu's life, bamboo and feather, lightness and heaviness, rooted and soaring, are not completely opposite, but rather are mutually blended, debated, and supplemented. Yu's practice is the negotiation of these dialectics. From ink paintings on paper to large installations, he focuses on the materials of bamboo and feathers, exploring their clashes and synergies.
