It was our pleasure to have the NY-based florist Mengling to lead the kids’ floral workshop for Franziska Fennert's solo.

In the first workshop, we use pumpkin as container. Kids and parents firstly hollowed a pumpkin and then arranged the tropical flowers, corresponding to the color in the paintings, into the pumpkin; we also roasted and consumed the pumpkin seeds and pulp all together at the community table. From farmland, gallery work table, to dining table, kids experience the cycle of a produce and the values within it.

In the second workshop, together with kids and parents, we firstly learned the power and intimacy of fabrics with bodies, extracted imagination and knowledge from myths, and then dived deeply into the creation of a Java island. Watching kids creating endangered animals and imaginary creatures with clay and how flourish and abundant each island gradually became, we were moved.
