Petah Coyne Honored with 2024 Lifetime Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award

On January 18, the International Sculpture Center in New York honored Petah Coyne and Melvin Edwards with its 2024 Lifetime Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards.

Established in 1960, the Center promotes the creation and critical understanding of sculpture through multiple initiatives. Its members include artists, art writers, dealers, educators, and collectors.



Hsu Che-Yu Receives Han Nefkens Foundation - Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Award

Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Award is established by the Han Nefkens Foundation in collaboration with Loop Barcelona and the Fundació Joan Miró in 2018. The award is devoted to support Asia artists’ production in the video art field.

After receiving $15.000USD funding from Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Award for producing new work, which will be showing at public institution such as Fundació Joan Miró, Loop Barcelona, Centre d'Art Contemporain, Genève, Inside-Out Art Museum, Beijing, MOCA Taipei, ILHAM, Kuala Lumpur for the next two years.

Hsu Che-Yu states: “I’m honoured to be awarded the Han Nefkens Foundation - Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Award this year. Most of my works explore the relationship between individual and collective memories from Taiwan. I'm happy these efforts find positive reactions outside my hometown and looking forward to collaborating with Han Nefkens Foundation in the coming year.”

Congrats to Rona Pondick for Winning the American Academy of Arts and Letters’s Art Purchase Program

The Academy’s purchase program began in 1946 to place the work of talented, living American artists in museums across the country. Since the inauguration of this program, the Academy has spent nearly $5 million to purchase over 1200 works of art.

Nunu Fine Art is very honored to be able to present Rona Pondick’s sculptures in art fair, Taipei Dangdai, took p lace in the beginning of this year. Pondick’s winning work in the 2020 Art Purchase Program is currently on display in the “Invitational Exhibition of Visual Arts”, and will be shown in the “Ceremonial Exhibition: Work by New Members and Recipients of Awards”, which opens in late May.

Petah Coyne receives the artist's honor from the Bruce Museum's 10th Icon Awards in the Arts. The Bruce Museum's Icon Awards in the Arts recognizes the contributions of distinguished figures in the art world who enrich the cultural life of the community. Coyne was also recently inducted into National Academy of Design, one of the highest honors in American art and architecture that is earned through nomination.

Ateneo Art Awards in the Philippines : Ronson Culibrina, Johanna Helmuth, and Ciron Señeres were three of the shortlist artists.

Ateneo Art Awards, the most prestigious prize for emerging artists in the Philippines, recently published their 2018 Ateneo Art Awards shortlist of visual art. Ronson Culibrina, Johanna Helmuth, and Ciron Señeres were three of the shortlist artists and have been cooperated with Nunu Fine Art. While sharing this great news with all of you, we also hope to introduce more creations of these three artists here at Nunu Fine Art!

Taishin award , the most important annual art award in Taiwan has just announced the winner of the year by the jury team-Kasahara Nichole(Tokyo) the curator of Tokyo photography museum, Frie Leysen(Belgium) the Founder of Brussels Kunsten Festival des Arts ,Chi Hui lin(Taiwan), Tchen Yu Chiou(Taiwan), and lin Chi min(Taiwan).

We are glad to know that, among hundreds of Taiwan museum exhibitions and performance artworks, Hsu Che Yu's Microphone test series has been picked as the  First prize, which is 50,000USD dollar-value.The awarded Piece is currently exhibited in MonTue, Taipei.

Nunu Fine Art Artist ROSE WYLIE Won John Moores Painting Prize!

NUNU FINE ART is really glad to let you know that one of our artist Rose Wylie just won the most important art awards, the John Moores Painting Prize. Rose is 80 years old was named the 29th winner of the biennial prize at a ceremony at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, following in the footsteps of painters including Patrick Heron (1959), David Hockney (1967), Peter Goig (1993) and Sarah Pickstone (2012). She is the oldest recipient of the award. The judges this year were Tim Marlow, the director of programmes at the Royal Academy and artists Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Zeng Fanzhi, Chantal Joffe and Tom benson.
