We are honored to share the latest news of artist Lu Guan-Hong, whose work is featured in "Material Extensions" at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM), widely recognized as the most iconic institution of contemporary art in Taiwan.
Lu Guan-Hong’s practice excels at embedding playful irony within blurred narrative structures. By creating absurd juxtapositions of scenes and figures, he constructs a calm yet tense sense of humor. His work captures the fissures within everyday order, transforming familiar visual experiences into psychological fields of uncertainty.
In "Material Extensions," Lu further explores how "matter" inversely intervenes and reshapes human lifestyles. Within a contemporary society defined by consumerism and symbolism, he uses a unique visual language to deconstruct the symbiotic relationship between humans and objects, production and consumption. He transforms the flow of materials into a black-humorist inquiry into our current state of existence.
